Where do you do business?
Detail Excellence provides MOBILE DETAILING, which means we come to your house or place of business. We bring the water, electricity and everything else. Please note it is your responsibility to secure the necessary permission for us to detail your car at your workplace. For a 10% discount, you can bring your car to our facility located north of Tienken between Brewster and Livernois in Rochester Hills (see map). Call or email for directions.
Where at my home do you do the work?
Most of our services can be performed in your driveway; we need to get our trailer within approximately 15 feet of your vehicle. For waxing, a shaded area is nice, but not required. Also, in inclement weather, a garage or car port may be necessary.
What if I live outside your normal service area?
Our normal service area covers zip codes 48306-48309 or within ten driving miles of our facility (see map). Outside of that area, we may have to add a small surcharge, since we have a very thirsty tow car. Also, remember you can always bring your vehicle to us for a 10% discount
Do you do mobile detailing year round?
Yes and no. Because extremely low temperatures are not condusive to proper detailing, we curtail our mobile services when outside temperatures begin to consistently fall below 40 degrees F. Also, our tow vehicle really doesn’t like salt and snow. HOWEVER, in place of the Mobile Detailing, we offer a Valet Service for the same price. We will pick up your vehicle from your home or place of business, perform the requested detail service in our garage and return the vehicle back to you.
How long does it take?
It depends on the type and condition of the vehicle and the level of service. For example, we should be able to do an Exterior Wash in less than an hour, but a Premium Detail Package could take 6-10 hours.
What are your hours of operation?
We try to be flexible to meet your needs. Our phones are monitored from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. However, we can schedule an appointment at your convenience between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. We are closed on Sunday, the Lord’s Day, as well as major holidays.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Because of the individualized nature of automobile detailing, we ask that you schedule an appointment. We will make every effort to work on your vehicle at a time convenient to you.
How much are your services?
See our Services tab for prices. Very rarely, a vehicle will present an extra-difficult detailing challenge. Things that may require extra attention include excess tar or scuffs on the exterior or major stains in the interior, etc. If we schedule an appointment without seeing your car, truck, van or SUV, we will give you an estimated cost based on our discussion with you. If, after seeing the vehicle, it is obvious that extraordinary effort is required, we will not start work until we have your approval.
How do I pay?
We accept cash, check, VISA, MasterCard and Discover Card, payable upon our completion of the vehicle. If no one will be available to pay when we are finished, then we would appreciate your arranging pre-payment.
What is a clay-bar?
As part of our Premium Detail Package, Detail Excellence utilizes a detailing clay-bar to remove environmental fallout from the exterior surfaces of the vehicle. This specially formulated material resembles a cross between modeling clay and putty. It is extremely effective at removing overspray, tree sap, bugs, tar and most other particulate fallout, to leave a silky smooth surface ready for polishing or waxing.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer a 10% discount if you bring you vehicle to our facility, or if you schedule multiple vehicles for the same visit. We have an Annual Maintenance Plan that will save you over 20% off our regular prices. We can also work with you to customize a plan for your specific needs.
What if I refer other customers to you?
Our Customer Referral Program offers you the opportunity to save up to 50% off the price of our services. For anyone you refer to Detail Excellence who purchases our service(s), you will receive points equal to 5% of the net price (in dollars) of that purchase. These points can be redeemed for cash off any services you would purchase from us (up to 50% of the price).
For example, if you refer three friends who end up buying $600 in detailing services, you would receive 30 points (5% of 600). You could then redeem those points for up to $30 off any of our detailing services, not to exceed 50% of the price of the service.
(May not be combined with special offers. Points are not redeemable for cash and must be used within twelve months of issue.)

Detail Excellence services are an ideal gift for that special someone who is so difficult to shop for. We have gift certificates for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries or anytime you want to show your appreciation.
Why should I want to have my vehicle detailed?
You have a lot of money invested in your vehicle and regular maintenance of its appearance helps maximize its value. Also, the process of detailing a vehicle can prevent deterioration, by protecting the paint and interior surfaces, removing dirt that traps rust-promoting moisture and eliminating the sand and grime that can wear the fabric of the interior. A vehicle that has had its appearance maintained is more enjoyable to drive and worth more at trade-in time.
Why in the world would I pay $25-$30 for a car wash?
Look closely at any vehicle that has been through a typical automatic car wash more than a couple of times. See those brush marks, particularly in the sunlight? Each trip through the wash adds microscopic scratches that progressively dull the finish and impart a “grained” look to what should be nice shiny paint. To be fair, brushless car washes don’t scratch the paint, but they also don’t get the car completely clean.
At Detail Excellence, we hand wash your vehicle with a soft, clean mitt or brush and pay particular attention to those nooks and crevices in the car that are missed by automatic washes. We also completely hand dry everything, including wiping down the door jambs. Plus, by bringing our service to your home or office, we save you the time involved with going to the car wash and waiting in line.
